Travel information

Hunter who lives in the European Union can bring his/her weapons to Hungary with European Weapon Passport and identity card or passport. In frontier stations there are not control, but police control may be made at any time. Inspection the following documents requested:
Passport or identity card, European Weapon Passport and the Invitation letter of Eurohunter.

Custom control

Custom control is ceased. Within the border's 30 kilometres area can be custom control of the EU's practice.

Veterinarian examination

Veterinarian examination is ceased. Bill and trophy judging sheet is needed for transporting trophies and venison.

Regulation

Rules of hunting mediation are not changed. Foreign Hunters hunt in Hungary have to possess contract with a hunting organiser company. Such hunting contract can conclude with a hunting organiser office which has registration of the Hungarian Ministry for Economic Affairs. Besides Hungarian hunting licence and compulsory insurance is needed. Foreign hunters must possess valid hunting licence in their country. Killing of protected species of game implies severe punishment.

Information to non-EU citizens

They need weapon import licence. It is available from the Customs. Necessary documents: Invitation letter from the Eurohunter, passport and home hunting licence.

Export of trophies

The following documents needed:

  • payed bill
  • customs declaration
  • trophy judgement sheet
  • veterinarian certificate which signed by official veterinarian
